SAIA to Co-Host Africa Sustainable Insurance Summit 2026 in Cape Town

The South African Insurance Association (SAIA) is delighted to partner with the Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance (NDSI), in collaboration with the Africa Insurance Organisation (AIO), to host the Africa Sustainable Insurance Summit (ASIS) 2026. Taking place from 4–6 February 2026 at the Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel in Cape Town, the Summit marks a significant gathering for Africa’s insurance sector.
ASIS 2026 is the flagship event of NDSI, a pan-African network of over 270 members dedicated to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles throughout the insurance value chain. The Summit offers a leading platform for insurers and industry stakeholders to shape the future of sustainable insurance across the continent.
Hosted under the compelling theme “Powering Pledge into Practice – Integration of Sustainability in the African Insurance Sector,” ASIS 2026 will bring together leading insurance executives, policymakers, regulators, and sustainability champions to accelerate the shift from commitment to action. The programme will highlight practical solutions, innovative approaches, and collaborative strategies that enhance resilience and promote sustainable growth within the African insurance ecosystem.
The Summit’s objectives include raising awareness and promoting the adoption of sustainable insurance principles, highlighting real-world implementation and integration, and building a vibrant community of practice through high-level dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and purposeful networking.
SAIA Chief Executive Officer, Ms Viviene Pearson, will deliver the opening address, setting the tone for the Summit’s strategic discussions. SAIA will also be represented by Ms Pamela Ramagaga, General Manager: Insurance Risks, who will contribute her expertise as a panellist in the session “Cities and Urban Resilience” on the second day of the Summit.
